Welcome to the internet home of the World of Warcraft guild Black Rose Coven. We have established ourselves on the Vek'nilash server. The guild has existed since 2006 and been reinvented a few times with different names along the way. We have been known as Black Rose Coven since 2008. Our focus is to help members to improve and advance the guild. Our goals are to maintain a family friendly environment and to advance through questing, dungeons, and raids.

Black Roses to most people signify death, or hatred. But it really means farewell and overcoming of a long hard journey. They were often used at funerals. A single black rose might be sent by a close friend and or loved one leaving for a war or on a journey from which he did not expect to return. - from Wikipedia

Coven was originally a late medieval Scots word (circa 1500) meaning a gathering of any kind. It derives from the Latin root word convenire meaning to come together or to gather, which also gave rise to the English word convene. The first recorded use of it being applied to witches comes much later, from 1662 in the witch-trial of Isobel Gowdie, which describes a coven of 13 members. - from Wikipedia

Our guild tabard design is a tree. The reasoning behind this is that the branches represent each guild member as they venture off into the world. The tree trunk represents the guild as a whole. Each branch can be traced back to the trunk where they all form a solid foundation.
